Planed Hours: 10.5hrs
Actual Hours: 5.7rs
So I don't want to say this week was a bust, far from it I believe. However I did not come close to meeting my goals. This week kind of was a realization of how time committing this training has become and in turn makes me rather stressed in trying to fit in riding time between other aspects of my life. This week I missed out on one strength building workout and a 3 hour endurance ride. It was upsetting to me, but the important thing in the end though is that I still am having fun on my bike and I am feeling great.

Pros:
- I had my first race of the season. A fun event down in Virginia called Snotcycle. I decided to race single speed for the event and went down to have a good time and above all else not to push too hard. We were greeted by 4" +/- of new snow and a lovely 8 mile course (raced 2 laps), it was a blast and despite the cold I had a great time. Of the 60 or so Single Speeders who raced it I finished 29th. Not bad considering I had my bike geared completely wrong at 32 x 20 when it should have been about 32 x 16, and well I wasn't trying to push it. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/23581799
- I got my first after work daylight ride of the year in on Friday. I was able to get out of work and ride for an hour or so before dark. It was just nice to MTB in the daylight during the week.
- My longest to date night road ride with 4 other teamates at 30 miles. I'm starting to get the hang of riding at night. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/23369433
Cons:
- As I said in my intro, the lack of hours was a bit of a downer and I am questioning how I will do this upcoming week with them.

Good luck man, having fun and enjoying yourself on the bike are really important. They help you not burn out and keep up with training in the longterm.
